One Saturday afternoon in Oxford I fulfilled another of my desires and fantasies and walked on broken glass. This is something that I had an interest in for some time and when a friend of mine learnt to do it I jumped at the opportunity to play.
I have now joined the ranks of others who have faced their fears and anxieties of walking on razor sharp glass and not get cut. This is not quite true as I knew it could be done and with relative safety although there is always a chance of getting cut and I was prepared to take that risk.
Down the years I have walked on fire with Tony Robbins at the NEC in the UK, caught arrows fired at me, breathed and eaten fire, crashed aeroplanes, dogged knives and done a variety of things that others may consider strange, including paying an ex-member of the sas to take me through there interrogation techniques so that I know at what point I will break.
An assortment of interesting things in order to get out of my comfort zones and expand my awareness of my world.
My good friends Richard Mackenzie and Paddy Landau who are also hypnotists also played on this day.
Below are the pictures of my walk, the first thing we realised was 35 bottles does not give you a very long walk, so we are going to do a much longer walk when we find enough bottles to smash. It seams the biggest problem with glass walking is emptying the bottles of booze that you need.
The responses to us doing this have been varied and has resulted in us having to revalidate some beliefs that we had. Inducing that of other friends intelligence. One friend told me. its a trick. I have been on a scientist web site and he says you do this
Despite normally being a very intelligent person he got it totally wrong. It is not a trick. The glass and bottles are real. It just shows what people will do to hang on to their limited belief systems.
This is a picture of me in a yoga posture balancing on my hands while on broken bottles.
Some of you might ask, "so what was out set up for this ?" The usually stuff about anchors, fears and concerns about getting cut, well there was not any. There was no doubt that we could do this first time.
As hypnotist’s we use what we teach our clients to do, so from our point of view this was a perfectly safe and natural thing for us to do on a Saturday afternoon.
